295 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will provide funding for a link road from the Shercock road R178 to the N2 Dublin-Derry road at Carrickmacross, County Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5874/01]

The 2001 non-national road grant allocation of £9.489 million for Monaghan County Council, under the EU co-financed specific improvement grants scheme, includes an allocation of £300,000 for a link road from the R178 to the N2 at Carrickmacross.
