394 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if the provision of a swimming pool at Lucan, County Dublin, is being held up due to his Department not having provided the promised guidelines for public private partnership; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 394 and 405 together.

While I understand that South Dublin County Council is considering the possibility of providing a swimming pool in Lucan under a public private partnership arrangement, my Department has not received a grant application in relation to such a proposal. The report of the interdepartmental working group established to develop guidelines and advise on the other key issues for the operation of a public private partnership approach in relation to swimming pools is under consideration in my Department.
