Vol. 531 No. 3

Written Answers. - Swimming Pool Projects.

Austin Currie

Ceist:

394 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if the provision of a swimming pool at Lucan, County Dublin, is being held up due to his Department not having provided the promised guidelines for public private partnership; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5460/01]

Liam Lawlor

Ceist:

405 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will provide information on the status of the guidelines on public private partnership projects for local authorities. [5993/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 394 and 405 together.

While I understand that South Dublin County Council is considering the possibility of providing a swimming pool in Lucan under a public private partnership arrangement, my Department has not received a grant application in relation to such a proposal. The report of the interdepartmental working group established to develop guidelines and advise on the other key issues for the operation of a public private partnership approach in relation to swimming pools is under consideration in my Department.
Question No. 395 answered with Question No. 391.
