Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received correspondence in regard to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin seeking information on appropriate educational provision for him; if he will indicate his reply to this correspondence; and when a definitive answer will be available. I am aware of the case to which the Deputy refers. An application for home tuition support was recently received in my Department from the mother of the child in question, together with a report on the child's special needs from the Beechpark Outreach Services.
I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department has recently sanctioned an allocation of ten hours' home tuition per week for the child in question.
