137 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if an area aid application for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo was mislaid within his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8612/01]
As stated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 110 of 13 February 2001, I am satisfied that an area aid application in respect of the person named was not mislaid by or within my Department. No area aid application was received from the person named for 2000. However, the area aid unit received a copy application and certificate of posting in February 2001 from the person named, showing that the original application was sent before the closing date of 28 April 2000. The copy of the 2000 area aid application for the person named was therefore fully accepted and processed with no outstanding errors, and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 27.20 hectares.
