Ceist:

70 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Defence the support the Irish Red Cross Society has given to refugees and asylum seekers here as a statutory organisation with a mandate under the Geneva Convention relating to these areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10288/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 69 and 70 together.

My Department administers a grant-in-aid to the Irish Red Cross Society, which this year amounts to £509,000. Some £30,000 of this amount is in respect of the care of refugees and asylum seekers.
