181 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of people in the Western Health Board area who are on the waiting list for prostate surgery; the average length of time spent waiting on this list; and the age category of the people concerned. [17424/01]
The waiting list figures specifically for prostate surgery are not routinely collected by my Department. However, according to the quarterly waiting list returns from the Western Health Board, the number on the in-patient waiting list for urology was 235 at 31 December 2000. This figure would include persons waiting for prostate surgery. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to provide the specific information requested to the Deputy directly.
