The Deputy will be aware that my Department is currently preparing a health strategy covering the next five to seven years. To facilitate this process, a number of working groups have been set up to examine key themes, one of which being the method of funding appropriate to the health sector. This process has involved input from various organisations including representation from health agencies, private health insurers, private hospitals, nurses organisations as well as submissions from the public and other interested parties. The strategy statement is currently being prepared, and I will be presenting it to Government shortly.
