Vol. 540 No. 1

Written Answers. - Anti-Racism Measures.

Michael D. Higgins

Ceist:

399 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the Government position on Amnesty International's anti-racism campaign; his plans for the adoption of the recommendations of the campaign; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19861/01]

My Department is spearheading a wide ranging set of actions designed to tackle racism and intolerance. Many of these measures were in place prior to the Amnesty International campaign. The details of the actions undertaken are of such volume that it would not be possible to incorporate them in this reply. I have, therefore, forwarded to the Deputy an 18 page comprehensive response for his information.
