438 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his plans to provide a new Garda station in Sandyford, County Dublin; if he intends to have major refurbishment works undertaken on the existing Garda station; and if so, when such works will commence. [20024/01]
I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are no plans to build a Garda station in Sandyford. I am further informed by the Garda authorities that Dundrum sub-district is responsible for the policing of Sandyford and that it is proposed to build a new station in Dundrum in the future. The Office of Public Works is awaiting plans from the town developers on the second phase of the Pye development. It is not possible at this stage to give a timescale for the project.
