Vol. 540 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

506 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans he has to seek additional funds for capital investment in the primary school sector in 2002; and the funding which is needed to cover the projects at various stages of planning. [20034/01]

It is my intention, in the context of the current Estimates process, to consolidate the considerable progress that has been made in improving the primary school infrastructure by seeking to maximise the funding available for 2002 and subsequent years.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

507 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of primary schools, nationwide, which have applied for capital investment for repair, extension and building works; and the estimated costing of the total works requested on a county by county basis. [20035/01]

The information in the format requested by the Deputy is not readily available in my Department. However, if the Deputy wishes to obtain details of specific building projects, I will be happy to provide them.
