1033 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science if the catchment area for the new school to be supplied in Newport, County Mayo, has been selected; if he will give full details of the catchment area; the effect it will have on Mulranny, Kilmeena and the surrounding areas; and the consequences of this for persons who wish to attend school in Westport, County Mayo. The catchment area for the proposed new school in Newport, County Mayo, has not yet been finalised. The views of school management authorities in the adjacent post primary school centres and of County Mayo Vocational Education Committee will be sought and fully considered before a decision in the matter is taken.
