49 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the criteria which will be used in assessing the suitability of persons to serve on the board of the proposed Crisis Pregnancy Agency and to hold the position of chief executive of service management in the agency. [25556/01]
The Crisis Pregnancy Agency has been established as an independent statutory agency under the Health (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1961. I will shortly be appointing the board of the agency and the persons appointed will have a range of experience and expertise appropriate to the agency's remit. Initially, a small number of administrative staff have been seconded from my Department to the agency to enable it to become operational. The arrangements for the recruitment of permanent staff, including a director, will be a matter for consideration by the board at the agency.
