388 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of permanent nursing posts vacant at each of the hospitals under the aegis of the Western Health Board; the number of temporary nurses employed in each case; the number of posts required to be filled in each hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Western Health Board does not have any staff nurse posts which it cannot fill due to lack of applicants. A total of 123 staff nurse posts at each of the hospitals under the aegis of the health board are being filled by temporary staff nurses. Interviews for permanent appointment to the posts have taken place and the successful candidates are being processed by the health board.
The location of the 123 posts in question is set out in the following table.
