354 Mr. T. Hayes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary did not receive a special beef premium for 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2522/02]
The herd number quoted in the question was issued jointly to the person named and another person on 4 April 2001. The two persons involved were informed in writing by the Department of this decision on that date. Both herd numbers previously held by these parties ceased to be valid from 4 April 2001. However, the person named made applications for special beef premium under her old herd number on 24 September 2001, 2 October 2001 and 21 December 2001. As this is no longer a valid herd number, the applications can only be processed under the new herd number and both parties must sign the application forms. Therefore, the application forms have been returned to the person named and when they are signed by both parties and received by my Department, the applications will be reviewed.

An advance payment representing 80% of his entitlement will issue to the person named within the next fortnight.
356 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when payment under the 2001 suckler cow scheme will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [2596/02]
The person named included a parcel on his 2001 area aid application on which there is an overlap with the parcel of another herdowner. My Department is currently endeavouring to resolve this matter as expeditiously as possible by contacting both herdowners. Unfortunately, no area linked payments can issue until the matter is resolved.
