497 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the capital projects financed by his Department in each constituency which commenced or were completed in 2001; the amount of money in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1300/02]
My Department has overall strategic responsibility for the NDP so as to develop the health service infrastructure in a co-ordinated and effective manner. However, the prioritisation and delivery of individual capital projects at local level is primarily a matter for the health boards.
Accordingly, my Department has written to the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the chief executive officer of each of the seven regional health boards and asked them to reply directly to the Deputy.
