Ceist:1073 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation his plans to launch the tourism product investment scheme; the role of this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2873/02]

I am pleased to inform the House that I launched Bord Fáilte's tourism product development scheme yesterday, 29 January 2002, in Dublin. Two regional launches for the border, midlands, west and south and east regions have also been planned. The role of the scheme is to develop the tourism product in a sustainable way that widens the spatial spread of tourism, eases pressure from highly-developed areas and increases the lesser-developed region's share of overseas tourism revenue.
