132 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the payments for afforestation and reforestation grants paid in 1997 and to date in 2001, distinguishing between private individuals and State forestry. [1114/02]
No such payments are made in respect of state forestry. In 1997, such payments to Coillte Teo amounted to approximately 7.4 million, with approximately 41.5 million being paid to farmers and others.
The corresponding total payments in 2001 were approximately 7.8 million and 89.5 million respectively.
