Written Answers. - Coastal Erosion.
In October 2001 my Department wrote to all coastal local authorities and requested prioritised proposals for consideration under the 2002 coast protection programme. Mayo County Council has submitted proposals for consideration. I can confirm that the local authority has submitted a proposal for the location in question. The question of funding coastal protection works at this location is being considered in the context of the funding available in 2002 and overall national priorities for coastal protection.
