Ceist:

504 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the funding allocated each year from 1995 to 2001, inclusive, by his Department for Cork north-west; the specific project investments; and the major developments which began or major service improvements which were funded as a result of an increase in funding in each of these years. The information requested is set out in the following tabular statements. The information is supplied on a county basis as this is the format in which the records are maintained in my Department.

Funding provided in Cork city and county in relation to the Garda and courts areas is as follows: 1999 refurbishment of Washington Street courthouse €4.01 million; 2001 refurbishment of Mallow courthouse €1.19 million; and 1999 to date CCTV installations in Cork city €412,887.00

The following amounts were paid from the national anti-racism awareness programme to community groups in the Cork city and county area in 2001, the first year of the programme. The grants were provided for local anti-racism and interculturalism projects or activities.

Under my Department's funding for child care services a total of €11.2 million has been allocated to County Cork since 1994. Since 2000 funding for child care has been made available under my Department's Equal Opportunities Child Care Programme 2000-2006. From 2000 up to 28 February I have allocated more than €10 million to more than 95 child care services in County Cork.
