Vol. 550 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Beds.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

114 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason it would be necessary to close beds in the Western Health Board region due to the outbreak of the winter vomiting bug; the amount of money the winter vomiting bug cost; the reason it cost money considering that operations were cancelled and admissions were reduced; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9623/02]

The provision of services in the Western Health Board region is its responsibility. My Department has asked its chief executive officer to investigate the matters raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
