Vol. 551 No. 3

Written Answers. - Cardiac Services.

Ceist:

179 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the allocation of funding for a specialist cardiac unit at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, Dublin 12; if he will correspond with Heart Children Ireland on this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10642/02]

Responsibility for the provision and funding of services, including cardiac services, at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the position in this case and to reply to the Deputy directly and to correspond with Heart Children Ireland regarding this matter.
