550 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a hip operation; if this case can be re-examined in view of the evidence submitted which proves that an application for an out patient clinic appointment was submitted on 31 October 1996 for Mayo General Hospital. The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
