Ceist:

160 Mr. Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will put provisions in place to assist all farmers who have suffered massive losses due to the appalling weather conditions endured in recent weeks, with losses and damage to silage and other crops; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As a result of the recent sustained spell of wet weather farmers in all production sectors throughout the country have experienced difficulties to varying degrees.

I shall keep the situation under review in the light of developments over the coming period.
