Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Local Authority Offices.

Paul McGrath

Ceist:

1574 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if ten der documents for the building of a one-stop shop at Castlepollard, County Westmeath have been received in his Department; the date these documents were received; the reason there is a delay in proceeding with this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16963/02]

Westmeath County Council is wholly responsible for the procurement of the one-stop shop in Castlepollard; my Department has no involvement in the tendering or development process.

However, I approved funding of €382,500 in July towards the costs of the project. I understand from the council that building contractors are currently on site with a view to having the centre operational towards the end of 2003.
