Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Birth Certificates.

John Perry

Ceist:

1160 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon has not received their birth certificate from the Western Health Board in view of the fact that it is required for his passport; if he will ensure that it is released immediately; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16848/02]

The administration of the registration system is a matter for An tArd-Chláraitheoir, the Registrar-General of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and for local registrars who operate under his general direction. Inquiries have been made with the office concerned and I understand that the certificate in question has been issued. I also understand that the appropriate general manager, Western Health Board has written to the Deputy concerning the matters raised by him.
