Ceist:

1402 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the length of sentence received by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3; and the length of sentence served. [16783/02]

The person referred to was committed to the Dóchas Centre, on remand, on 15 January 2001. On 4 May 2001, she was sentenced to four years imprisonment, with the last six months suspended, for assault, and to a further concurrent six months imprisonment for assault causing harm. These sentences were backdated to 15 January 2000. Allowing for normal remission she was due to complete her sentence on 3 September 2002. She was granted renewable temporary release, subject to specific conditions, with effect from 17 July 2002.
