Richard Bruton

Ceist:

56 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the revenue from charges related to public services which her Department approves to be raised by agencies under her aegis, which are not included in appropriations-in-aid for 2000, 2001 and 2002. [18721/02]

The agencies under the aegis of my Department are statutorily independent in the exercise of their day to day functions. With the exception of charges applied by the Legal Metrology Service, which are determined with ministerial consent, establishment of charge levels for services provided by the agencies is a matter for the agencies themselves and my Department has no function in the matter. Income for services provided by the agencies is detailed in the published annual reports and accounts of the agencies. In addition, it is reflected in the operating statements of Forfás, Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, Shannon Development and the National Standards Authority of Ireland as published in the Book of Estimates annually. The revenue from charges related to the Legal Metrology Service of the National Standards Authority of Ireland for the years in question is as follows:

2000

M1.1

2001

M1.2

2002 (projected)

M1.3
