Vol. 556 No. 3

Written Answers. - Live Exports.

Gerard Murphy

Ceist:

247 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reasoning behind the decision by his Department for insisting on special export lorries having to be used by an organisation (details supplied) to take cattle from a collection point in Kilmallock, County Limerick to Shannon Airport. [20214/02]

Animals exported by Bóthar to Kosovo must be transported on export approved vehicles because the competent authorities of that country, as part of the export conditions of these animals, insist that they be transported on vehicles approved by my Department for the international transport of animals.
