Vol. 556 No. 3

Written Answers. - Youth Services.

David Stanton

Ceist:

338 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science the costs involved to date and the expected costs to be incurred in a full year in the establishment of the national youth work advisory committee; the further extra costs expected to be incurred in the further developments of the provisions of the Youth Work Act, 2001, in a full year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19816/02]

The costs incurred in 2002 to date in respect of the expenses of the national youth work advisory committee and its sub-committees are €10,933. It is estimated that the costs for the full year 2002 will be €12,500.

The costs to be incurred in 2003 in relation to the implementation of the Youth Work Act, 2001 are being examined at present by my Department having regard, inter alia, to the financial requests being received from vocational education committees. It is not possible to indicate at this stage what the 2003 costs will be as further discussions will be necessary with the Irish vocational education association/chief executive officers association of vocational education committees and, also, with the Department of Finance.
