Vol. 557 No. 1

Written Answers. - Occupational Therapy Service.

Mary Upton

Ceist:

373 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children further to Parliamentary Question No. 1042 of 9 October 2002, the number of additional occupational therapists which have been appointed to a location (details supplied); and the new initiatives which have been put into place for service delivery. [21657/02]

The provision of occupational therapy services, and any matters relating to such provision, within its functional area, is a matter for the relevant health board or the Eastern Regional Health Authority. In the case of community care area 5, Cherry Orchard Hospital, Dublin 10, this responsibility lies with the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

In the circumstances my Department has requested the regional chief executive of the authority to reply direct to the Deputy.
