80 Ms Burton asked the Minister for Finance if he has received the report of the committee of experts headed by Mr. Maurice O'Connell to review new spending proposals from Government Ministers; if it is intended to publish the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21277/02]

The report of the Independent Estimates Review Committee was presented to me on 15 October last. The Government is considering the committee's report as part of its deliberations on the Estimates and budget for 2003.

The Government intends to publish the report of the committee following Budget 2003.
