VAT receipts have been performing fairly well this year. VAT receipts to end October 2002 were €7,280 million, which is an increase of 12% on the same period last year. This compares to a budget day target of an increase of 11% for the year as a whole on 2001. Given these growth rates I expect the VAT receipts for this year to be close to target. The budget day target for VAT receipts was €8,789 million.
