Vol. 557 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

172 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received area based payments for 2002. [21224/02]

The person named included a parcel of land on his 2002 area aid application which overlapped with a land parcel belonging to another herdowner.

Following contact by the area aid unit with the herdowner, the correct boundary for his land parcel has been established. His 2002 area aid application has been fully processed without error with an area determined for payment purposes of 155.22 hectares.

The person named will be paid his full entitlement under the 2002 area-based compensatory allowance scheme shortly.

Ceist:

174 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Clare has not received suckler cow premium for 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21250/02]

The person named applied on 44 animals under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme on 26 June 2001. An inspection of his herd was carried out on 24 October 2001. My Department wrote to the person named on 31 January 2002 advising him that as the level of non-compliance with animal identification and registration requirements was greater than 20% no premium was payable to him under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme in accordance with clause 38 (b) of the terms and conditions governing the scheme. He was given the opportunity of having this decision reviewed by writing to my Department within 21 days but to date no request for a review has been received.
