Vol. 557 No. 5
97 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive area-based payments for 2002. [22747/02]
The 2002 area aid application of the person named has been fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 15.69 hectares. The person named was paid her full entitlement under the 2002 area based compensatory allowance scheme on 18 November 2002.
98 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the position in relation to a 2002 ewe premium application for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22748/02]
The person named was not the registered herdowner at the date of application for ewe premium in December 2001. She has since become the registered owner and payment of the 2002 ewe premium will be made shortly.
99 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a suckler cow grant for 2000 will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22749/02]
The person named applied on 66 animals under the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme on 31 May 2000. An inspection of his herd was carried out on 20 July 2000 and it was found that the person named had applied on one of these animals twice and that one animal had an invalid tag number and was deleted from his application leaving 64 potentially eligible animals. Two animals were absent at inspection and these were rejected.
100 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a suckler cow grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22750/02]
The person named applied on 14 cows and two heifers under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme on 15 January 2002. My Department wrote to the person named on 19 August 2002 requesting calving dates for three cows and also requested him to provide confirmation that a fourth cow, which had a last calving date of 15 March 1998, had calved subsequently. The person named provided details of the calving dates for two cows and confirmed that the third cow was in fact a heifer. The person named notified my Department on 31 October 2002 that the fourth cow had calved in 2002 but that he had registered the birth of the calf with incorrect dam details on the cattle movement monitoring system. This error has now been rectified and his application under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed for payment.
101 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway has not received a suckler cow grant for 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22751/02]
The person named applied on 17 animals under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme on 22 March 2002. An inspection of his herd was carried out on 9 August 2002. During this inspection it was found that one animal in his herd was not compliant with animal identification and registration requirements, resulting in a reduction penalty which will apply when balancing payments are made in the new year. My Department wrote to the person named on 11 November 2002 advising him of his non-compliance with the requirements and giving him the opportunity to have this decision reviewed by writing to my Department within 21 days. He informed my Department of his acceptance of the decision on 14 November 2002. His 2002 suckler cow premium application is now being processed for advance payment and this will issue to him shortly.
