Vol. 558 No. 6

Written Answers. - Light Rail Project.

Charlie O'Connor

Ceist:

150 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Transport if he has discussed with the Luas team the need to ensure that inconvenience to the public of Tallaght in respect of the local Luas works are kept to a minimum, particularly in the run up to the Christmas period; the arrangements in place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25227/02]

Local arrangements regarding the construction programme for Luas are a matter for the Railway Procurement Agency, RPA, and it would not be appropriate for me to become involved.

However, I understand from the RPA that work on constructing the remaining section of the line between the Red Cow depot and the Square in Tallaght will continue over the Christmas period but will be organised so as to minimise disruption and inconvenience to members of the public. I understand the Railway Procurement Agency will take the appropriate steps to keep the public advised on developments.
