Ceist:908 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive Dúchas compensation payment for 2002 for the 119 ewes this person destocked. [1380/03]

Dúchas, the heritage service of my Department, makes compensation payments to farmers for losses arising from the 30% destocking in 1998 based on information provided by the Department of Agriculture and Food.
For the year 2002 officials of Dúchas raised queries with the information provided by the Department of Agriculture and Food with regard to the person named.
Following a meeting between Dúchas and that Department all outstanding issues were clarified and payment will issue shortly. A grant payment to this person in respect of 103 ewes will issue shortly.

My Department is currently determining the grant payments due to farmers who joined REPS during 2002 and will issue such payments shortly.
