100 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children when it is envisaged to establish the new hospitals authority as proposed in the national health strategy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3132/03]
The proposed establishment of the national hospitals agency is being dealt with in the context of the current review of the health service structures. Prospectus Strategy Consultants were contracted in June of 2002 to complete an audit of structures and functions of the health system. On completion, I will bring the report to the Government for decision. I advise the Deputy that work is at an advanced stage and I anticipate that a final draft will be available shortly.
