Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the significant staff and resource shortages at the maternity unit of a hospital (details supplied); if he will carry out a review of staff numbers in the unit; the numbers of births in the unit in each of the years from 1997 to 2002; the number of full-time staff employed in the unit in each of the years from 1997 to 2002; if his Department has considered the construction of a purposed-built maternity unit at the hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
