86 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the number of fishing vessels boarded by the Naval Service since 1 January 2000; and the number of these which were Irish registered vessels. [3148/03]

The Naval Service boarded a total of 4,220 fishing vessels at sea between 1 January 2000 and 31 October 2002, the date to which latest figures are available. Of these 1,928 were Irish registered.
