429 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if additional Garda vehicles will be assigned to the Ennistymon district, County Clare, particularly during the summer months to cater for the large volume of tourists; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4799/03]
I am informed by the Garda authorities that the most recent application from the Ennistymon district for an additional motorcycle for the summer months was submitted in May 2000. In December 2000 an extra traffic motorcycle was allocated to this division and based in Ennis, which is the divisional headquarters. The deployment of this motorcycle is a matter for local management. The allocation of resources within Garda divisions is a matter for local Garda management.
