Ceist:

235 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the secondary legislation outstanding within his Department; the function of each piece of secondary legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5518/03]

Nine statutory instruments are being prepared in my Department, transposing into national legislation various EU directives, details of which are contained in the following table:

Commission Directive 2001/36/EC of 16 May 2001 amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market.

Council Directive 98/95/EC of 14 December 1998 amending, in respect of the consolidation of the internal market, genetically modified plant varieties and plant genetic resources, Directives 66/400/EEC, 66/401/EEC, 66/402/EE, 66/403/EEC, 69/208/EEC, 70/457/EEC and 70/458/EEC on the marketing of beet seed, fodder plant seed, cereal seed, seed potatoes, seed of oil and fibre plants and vegetable seed and on the common catalogue of varieties of agricultural plant species.

Directive 2001/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2001 amending Council Directive 95/53/EC fixing the principles governing the organisation of official inspections in the field of animal nutrition and Directives 70/524/EEC, 96/25/EC and 1999/29/EC on animal nutrition.

Commission Directive 2002/48/EC of 30 May 2002 amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC to include iprovalicarb, prosulfuron and sulfosulfuron as active substances.

Commission Directive 2002/76/EC of 6 September 2002 amending the Annexes to Council Directive 86/362/EEC and 90/642/EEC, as regards the fixing of maximum levels for pesticide residues (metsulfuron methyl) in and on cereals and certain products of plant origin, including fruit and vegetables.

Commission Directive 2002/79/EC of 2 October 2002 amending the Annexes to Council Directives 76/895/EEC, 86/362/EEC, 86/363/EEC and 90/642/EEC as regards the fixing of maximum levels for certain pesticide residues in and on cereals, foodstuffs of animal origin and certain products of plant origin, including fruit and vegetables.

Commission Directive 2002/63/EC of 11 July 2002 establishing Community methods of sampling for the official control of pesticide residues in and on products of plant and animal origin and repealing Directive 79/700/EEC.

Commission Directive 2002/81/EC of 10 October 2002 amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC to include flumioxazine as active substance.

Commission Decisions 93/623 and 2000/68. These Decisions set out the nature of the identification document (passport) accompanying registered equidae. Decision 2000/68 requires that all equidae must have passports.
