Vol. 562 No. 1

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Ceist:

236 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Sligo has not received a REP scheme payment; if it will be released instantly, in view of the fact an inspection has been carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5567/03]

Payment has been approved for the person named and a cheque will issue within the next two weeks.

John Perry

Ceist:

237 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the REP scheme payments made to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; if a Department official will make contact with this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5568/03]

It was necessary to terminate the participation in REPS of the person named because he did not submit an application for his final year's payment. An official from my Department has telephoned the person named and explained the situation to him, and it will be confirmed in writing in the next few days.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

238 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when an area aid application will be granted to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5599/03]

The 2001 and 2002 area aid applications of the person named have both been fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 28.75 hectares. The person named has been paid her full entitlements under the 2001 and 2002 area-based compensatory allowance schemes. The person named participated in 2001 extensification premium, opting for the simplified system. However, extensification premium payments may only issue to herdowners in respect of animals that have already qualified for payment of suckler cow and-or special beef premium grants in their own herds. Since the person named did not apply for grants in 2001 under the suckler cow or special beef premium schemes, she cannot be considered for payment of 2001 extensification premium.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

239 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason an installation aid grant has not been awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5620/03]

The person was an applicant under the national scheme of installation aid 1995-99. Under the terms of that scheme, a deed of trans fer containing a revocation clause could not take effect until that clause was deleted. In this case, the transfer deed contained a revocation clause which was not deleted until 14 March 2000. As this deletion took place after the final date of set-up under the scheme on 31 December 1999, his application could not be accepted. However, the person concerned may be eligible under the current installation aid scheme which applies to farmers who are set up in farming on or after 1 January 2000.
