Ceist:572 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the stage funding for family resource centres is at; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7298/03]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 571 and 572 together.
The Family and Community Services Resource Centre Programme, which was introduced in 1994, provides financial assistance to projects to assist with the staffing and equipping of local resource centres which provide a focal point for community development activities. An application for inclusion in the programme has been received from the organisation in question. In order to progress the application, a meeting will be arranged with officials from my Department. Responsibility for the Family and Community Services Resource Centre Programme will be transferred to the family support agency when it is formally established.
