Vol. 566 No. 3

Written Answers. - Proposed Legislation.

John Bruton

Ceist:

195 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he plans to amend the Civil Liability (Amendment) Act 1964 and associated legislation in order to implement the report of the Law Reform Commission on the deductibility of collateral benefits, to place a cap on certain categories of damages or to redefine the nature of the torts covered; and if not, the reason therefor. [12613/03]

I intend to include, in the draft legislation I am preparing on personal injuries, provisions on deductibility of collateral benefits taking into account the Law Reform Commission's report referred to by the Deputy.
