213 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to a recent newspaper interview (details supplied) by the Ombudsman and Information Commissioner; his views on whether the Blood Transfusion Service Board should be brought under her remit notwithstanding her criticism of the Lindsay report into matters relating to haemophilia; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have seen the report of the interview referred to.

I am satisfied that the Ombudsman will discharge her functions in relation to all of the bodies which come within her remit fully in accordance with the provisions of the Ombudsman legislation, and to the highest standards.
