214 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance the position regarding the old barracks property in Bangor, Ballina, County Mayo; and the plans there are for this property, in view of the fact it is now going into dereliction. [16490/03]
I am informed by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform that the old barracks in Bangor, Ballina, County Mayo is now surplus to Garda requirements. If there are no other State requirements the Commissioners of Public Works will place it on the open market. In the meantime, the commissioners will ensure that the premises is safe and secure.
