Ceist:

127 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the amount of housing repair grants paid out in each local authority area for the years 1998 to date; the average waiting time for grant approval in each area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information available within my Department in relation to the disabled persons, essential repairs grant schemes and the scheme of improvement works in lieu of re-housing, which are administered by the local authorities, and the allocations of funding under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme, which is administered by a task force under the aegis of my Department and operated on the ground by the health boards, is set out in the following tables:
