Written Answers. - School Staffing.
The staffing of an individual primary school for a particular school year is determined by reference to the enrolment of the school on 30 September of the previous school year. This is in accordance with guidelines agreed between my Department and the education partners. The school referred to by the Deputy will retain its present quota of mainstream teaching staff for the 2003-04 school year. Pending receipt of details of the enrolment at the end of September 2003 and the finalisation of the staffing schedule for the 2004-05 school year, it is not possible to indicate whether the school will retain current staffing levels for the 2004-05 school year.
