310 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science if funding will be provided by his Department for the appointment of a special needs assistant for a school (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18699/03]
My Department is currently processing applications made by schools for special education supports after 14 February 2003. The process involves an examination of each application and supporting documentation by the national educational psychological service and schools will be informed of the outcome at the earliest possible date. An application from the school referred to by the Deputy will be considered in this context.
