Moynihan-Cronin asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will reply to the specific question asked in Parliamentary Question No. 253 of 30 September 2003 tabled to her for reply which referred to the numbers on community employment schemes in a specific area (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. The allocation of community employment places on a county by county basis is a matter for FÁS and I have no function in the matter. Accord ingly, such statistics are not held on an ongoing basis in my Department.
The information can, however, be compiled by FÁS upon request. Accordingly, I will arrange for the statistics in question to be sent to the Deputy as a matter of urgency. As participants are continually leaving and joining schemes the most recent data available will be provided in respect of the current year.
